Taiwanese site mobile01 have taken apart the Acer Aspire One, which clearly shows 2 DDR2 Dimm slots, one on the front and one on the back of the main board (slot on the back looks like its removable, they must have added this additional stick of ram to just to show viewers, or else it has 2 512mb sticks ie..the 1GB model, one soldiered one extra added ??..time will tell)

well, http://www.mobile01.com is actually a TAIWANESE site, not Japanese.

Correct—Mobile01 is a Taiwanese site and this is a Taiwanese-spec Aspire One. It seems like the base Aspire Ones sold in Taiwan all come with 1gb ram by default (I haven’t seen any with just 512mb in Taiwan).
