Tesco UK are doing Acer Aspire One A110L White N270 512MB 8GB 8.9″ Net Book for £179 !
Cheapest in the UK.
Plus there is a £9 discount voucher – code XXNF4N making it £170 !
Acer Aspire One has to be one of the worst things I have EVER brought!
I’m a self employed fully qualified MCSE.
There is no instructions on how to download and install anything, you cannot update the browser, and the IM program does not work!
£179 for this piece of rubbish is a cheek
I purchased mine yesterday from Tesco, its going back there tomorrow.
Never will buy anything Acer again. NEVER!!!
The TV Ad and the promoting of this product is misleading and Trading Standards will be hearing about it first thing on Monday Morning!

You must be very poor MCSE then. Bit of real knowledge will do the job – but you’ve got ONLY certificate…
@Mike. I’m shocked. The AA1 is quite easy to get to grips with. Using Microsoft Windows has obviously made you lazy. I’ve got some computer qualifications from years ago, including Cobol and Pascal programming (no MCSE unfortunately
) and I’ve found installing programs fairly straightforward, as well as customizing the desktop. And I’m a linux newbie as well. Trading standards will laugh in your face if you sound off about this. Do what I did, and spend an hour learning a bit about Linpus Linux. It’ll broaden your horizons, honest.
I got my Aspire One from Tesco – I went for the A150 with XP. I love it. Downloaded the Unofficial XP install disc off this site – had to purchase an external DVD-RW because I couldnt get it to work from a USB Stick but I am really pleased with it! It runs even better with McAfee on!
Should of put without McAfee!
in finland the price is 225€ for the 110 “so about the same”
Wow, both myself, my wife, and my 14 year old daughter find our A110L very easy to use.
I’ve installed a load of extra stuff and updated the browser.
As they say in tech support, PICNIC – Problem In Chair, Not In Computer.

Funny that you are able to register and post on a forum, but are unable to read instructions on how to carry out simple tasks in Linux.
Gadgetmind – I preferred PEBCAK – problem exists between chair and keyboard.
I downloaded the Ubuntu OneLinux before it was withdrawn and everything just works it`s brilliant, I brought it for the grandson at christmas but now I`m loathe to part with it.
I’m amazed you found it hard. I’ve now got a reasonably modded AAO complete with 1G or RAM and Mandriva 2009 Linux running KDE4.
I’m quite impressed by it.
Being lucky enough to have never had the misfortune of using M$ anything I can’t really comment on the MCSE.
The plain Linpus system is very easy to use, but I wanted something a little more…. industrial.
BTW folks, do NOT try to add extra RAM unless you’re an electronics production engineer. I got a friend who is to do it and it’s NOT for the faint hearted.
