Acer will be launching the new A150 with a 6 cell battery (rated for 6hours use) and comes in black.
The Aspire One A150 has three USB 2.0 ports, VGA output, audio in/out and dual memory card readers. It also has WiFi a/b/g and wired ethernet, and weighs 1.26kg with the new 6 cell battery.
The expected price at launch will be €399 ($498)

The rest of the specification is the same as the other A150 models; a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard-drive.
Existing Aspire One users can by the 6 cell battery now from Amazon for £50.

I love the Aspire One but the 3 cell battery was the deal breaker for me. I almost decided on the fugly Eee, now I think I’ll wait.
How is this different from the Black A150-1049 (with 6 cell battery) that I purchased 2 weeks ago in New York???(jr.com). In fact, I am typing this post on the Black Acer AO 150. Is this model only available in the US?? In any event, the Atheros wifi card performs very poorly in this model also.

Looks rather nice, but as unable to find anything but the White and Blue modls in the UK. Chances of getting Black or the older Golden Brown or Pink in the UK seem impossible. Can anyone suggest a retailer?
now in the market have the 9 cell battery for the aspire one.
i think the 9cell aspire one battery is better than the 6 cell, and the price of the 9cll just more $10 than the 6 cell.

Two weeks ago I bought this from Amazon as the retailer for Electronica Direct.
Battery is great and 160 gig HD is more than one needs on the road.
Now I have all my iPod music installed so I can change whenever I want.
As others have said, the only problem are the speakers. Very poor sound.
For others in the US, Costo, Sams, Wal-Mart, etc are selling the base netbook - around $348/349.

Solved my speaker problem - went and bought the Altec-Lansing Orbit. Takes 3AAA batteries and in my test - close to 60 hours. Their adds say 24 hours. No clue why the discrepancy. Orbit can be bought at Wal-Mart for under $15. GREAT SOUND
