Takes 3AAA batteries and in my test - close to 60 hours. Their adds say 24 hours. No clue why the discrepancy. Orbit can be bought at Wal-Mart for under $15. Battery is great and 160 gig HD is more than one needs on the road. Now I have all my iPod music installed so I can change whenever I want. As others have said, the only problem are the speakers. Very poor sound. For others in the US, Costo, Sams, Wal-Mart, etc are selling the base netbook - around $348/349. Two weeks ago I bought this from Amazon as the retailer for Electronica Direct.
