Hands On: Acer’s New 11.6-Inch Aspire One Netbook

PCMag has a quick run down on the new 11.6 Acer Apsire One netbook

“The One (11.6-inch) looks like an average netbook, complete with a glossy top that’s available in several color variations: white, dark blue, black, and red. During the launch event, Acer had a red and a blue version on display. The One’s design isn’t as elegant as the aluminum HP Mini 2140 or as unique as the Sony VAIO LifeStyle PC, but a shinier top makes it slightly more appealing than the current Acer Aspire One (10-inch)

Although the 11.6-inch isn’t the biggest screen on a netbook, it’s the first. The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 and the Samsung NC20 have bigger, 12-inch netbook screens and can claim to have the largest screens for now. The One (11.6-inch), however, has a clear advantage over its 10-inch peers. For one, the resolution is 1,366 x 768, instead of a crippling 1,024 x 600. More importantly, the system’s width is able to accommodate a full size keyboard.”
