Back in December Acer launched the Aspire One AOD270-1834 it comes with high level Specs for a netbook and it offered the latest Cedar Trail version of the Intel 1.6 GHz Atom N2600 processor! Nevertheless, the delivery of the Cedar Trail chips was delayed, which stopped the Aspire One AOD270-1834 in its tracks.
However at the recent CES 2012 expo in Las Vegas, there was an abundance of Cedar Trail powered laptops and netbooks on show, which forced Acer once to make a move, this time the Aspire One AOD270-1834 is ready for pre-order on Amazon. However, there is no date indicated as to when the buyer can expect to take delivery of the machine.
The AOD270-1834 comes with the normal 10.1 inch WSVGA LED back lit low-res display with a 1024 x 600 of pixel resolutions and it comes with a built in 0.3 mega pixel web camera.
The most interesting part of this netbook will be the new Cedar Trail version of the Intel Atom Dual Core N2600 Processor with 1.6 GHz, it will be supporting the Mobile Intel NM10 Express Chipset and graphics are from the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600. Internal memory is just 1024 MB of DDR3 RAM but this in line with other netbooks, as is the 320 GB SATA Hard disk Drive (HDD) at 5400 RPM for storage.
Networking relies on the 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi feature and it would seem that no Bluetooth is available on this netbook. Other features include three standard USB 2.0 Ports, an HDMI port and there is even a useful multi into one digital media card reader.
The netbook measures 10.17 inches (L), 7.28 inches (W), 1.01 inches (H) and weighs in at 2.87 pounds (1.3 Kg) with the 6 cell Li-ion Battery (4400 mAh) that Acer claim to be good for up to eight hours Battery Life while running the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter operating system.
