If not, well, i tried about 3 days to do it, but no success...

Thanks, Magnatree, that worked great! Ironically, it was the 3rd way of creating the USB Boot Drive that I tried. 3rd time's a charm, right? As an FYI, my first USB thumb drive did not work for any version of OS X, but I tried a 2nd thumb drive (SanDisk Cruzer micro 8 GB), and had success. I hope it helps.

I think the best distro for the Acer is the iPC since it supports Hibernation.

Can anyone tell us if Hibernation is working with this distro ?

Doesn't work. At least not with the described steps for the iPC distribution. Kernelpanic.

I followed this guide last night and every installed fine. I havent got my Dell wireless card yet so using a compatible USB one atm, I haven't tried hibernation but I'm not that fussed. Everything else seems fine.

Triple boot WinXP/Win7 and OSX. All working fine.

Hello, I just finished installing and I am a newbie to macs, but my wireless is not being recognized. It seems like I can only use the ethernet.. Any suggestions?

Slow Boot Time

Postby buddy90210 » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:34 pm

What boot times should I be expecting?

I have a AAO-150 (160GB HDD), followed the instructions with the except of the optional keyboard change and I'm getting the following boot times:

OSX Boot
Elapsed Time: Event
0:00: Darwin Bootloader
0:10: Apple Logo
1:10: Blue screen
5:30: Login screen
5:45: Login complete

OSX Boot with -x
0:00: Darwin Bootloader
0:10: Apple Logo
1:00: Blue screen
1:15: Login screen
1:35: Login complete

Shutting down takes about ~15 sec

Booting Win7 seems to take ~20-30 sec so I can't see this being a HDD problem. Could this be due to the stock wirelesscard?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
buddy
