Yes, I'm sure that the battery life has improved significantly too. I haven't actually timed it though.

The other thing that I have noticed is that my 3G connection (Huawei E169G on 3 network) seems to be much more stable and much faster! :D

My AOA110 with BIOS 0.3304 has VGA BIOS Intel V1585 -- are you going backwards?

I just updated my bios to 3305; and this is what it shows now:
System BIOS Version: v0.3305
VGA BIOS Version: Intel V1585

Please help urgently. I tried to upgrade my bios from 3114 to 3305, but got the following error:

DOS/4GW Professional Error (2001): Exception 0eh (page fault) at 180:00476844
TSF32: prev_tsf32 6AF8
...... 11 lines of hex information
Crash address (unrelocated) = 1:00003844

I tried also 3304, but same error comes up.

I have a bootable USB Stick, works fine with Win98.

Please help, I am affraid of turning it off.

Is that a true DOS environment? What files did you use (from what OS) to create the bootable USB?

I used the HP Tools to create a bootable USB STick. Worked fine. Used also Win98 files (from same link) which has all the necessary files attached (link is in 3304). It also boots normally into Dos Mode, and says Win98.

Rachel Greenham's acerfand script has been updated to recognise BIOS 3.305 .
This is version 0.04 . Get it here: http://home.strangenoises.org/~rachel/aspireone/acerfand/acerfand

Nevermind the link in Jorge's page, which is the 0.01 version of the script.

Having updated to this BIOS, my CPU temp is now going through the roof! I have no Fan control software installed, but Speed Fan jumped from ~50C average, to 66C+ average. Downloaded CoreTemp, and it is showing a sustained 86C core temperature. (My left hand is hotter too). Going to downgrade, and see if temps go back to normal.

*edit* OK, to clarify, with 3304 my mean temp with CoreTemp was 80C, with 3305 this has jumped to 90C, going as far as 95 under load. I'm not sure this is good, so I'm going back to 3304 for now.

another update. Appears the Winflash program managed to fritz my fan. Upon inspoection, the fan was locked in low, no matter whether I flashed with 3304 or 3305. I performed a BIOS recovery as the temperature was just escalating uncontrollably. Now back to 3304, with a CPU temp of 65 - 70 (and the fan now spins up when needed). That is very weird!

I'm going to try a USB update to 3305 now, and will update with the results.

With my ultra scientific testing  I have managed to ascertain the following:

1. The Window flash utility screwed the fan setup on my AA1. I have repeated the procedure, and get the same results.
2. Doing a USB flash to 3304 results in temps around 65 - 70 (using CoreTemp which is Atom-capable)
3. Doing a USB flash to 3305 results in temps around 70-75 (up to 80 under load).

Has anybody had similar results, and can anyone who can decode BIOS files (macles?) say whether this is down to Acer "optimizing" the Fan or something similar? Also if anyone can explain to me why the Windows flash utility results in a locked low-speed fan EVERY time, I'd appreciate it :)
