Acer Aspire One A150X

After reporting yesturday that the Acer Aspire One would now come with a 120GB hard drive, that earlier report looks like it was a false rumour (still no confirmation from Acer), as there is yet another addition to the Aspire One range; the Aspire One A150X.

German retailer Notebooksbilliger.de are selling this model for 399 Euros (around £320).  It comes with the same 1.6GHz Atom chip and 1GB of memory but the hard drive has been increased to 120GB compared to the normal 80GB model. Windows XP pre-loaded.

Another update - this site has now just updated their entire Acer Aspire hard drive models to the 120gb versions as well, so maybe this will be final now.

Acer has clarified its pricing plan for the eagerly awaited Aspire One sub-notebook – and it’s clarified the price upwards.

At launch, the company stated the basic version of the Eee PC rival would run Linux, pack in 8GB of solid-state storage and 512MB of memory, and sport a £199 price tag. Company officials stressed that that figure included VAT, the UK’s 17.5 per cent sales tax.

According to ComputerActive magazine that the One’s retail price will be £220 including VAT. Indeed, a run through of the few vendors.

The Linux and Windows XP versions of the One will now include a 120GB hard drive rather than the 80GB HDD announced at launch.
